Other vendors say they "integrate for free," but only for devices bought inside their own ecosystem. The moment you bring a different brand, it stops. What we do is different: Central Hub Integration unifies devices from many brands, that already live in Alexa, Google Home or HomeKit, into the single Home-A-Genius hub.

That's real engineering: mapping each device's controls, building the scenes, and keeping it stable on your local network. It's a professional service, not a free checkbox, and it's why your whole home runs from one place instead of app-hopping between five.

Being straight with you

So does anything here touch the cloud?

Yes — in one specific place, and only if you choose it. Virtual relays are how we pull in gear we didn't supply: a speaker, a robot vacuum, an older bulb you already own. Those devices were built to talk to Amazon, Google or Apple, so the relay borrows that route to reach them.

The distinction that matters: the cloud is never load-bearing here. Your switches, lights, sensors, scenes and schedules run on the hub over Zigbee — a low-power wireless mesh — and keep running with the router unplugged. A cloud-based system puts your entire home on that connection. We put the optional edges there, and we tell you which ones before you buy.

Matter

Open standard from the Connectivity Standards Alliance. IP-based (Wi-Fi, Thread, Ethernet).

  • Universal cross-brand communication
  • Needs a controller: Google, Alexa, HomeKit or a third-party Matter hub
  • Thread is distinct from Zigbee; Zigbee joins via a bridge

Z-Wave

Proprietary (Silicon Labs), low-power mesh on 919.8/921.4 MHz in Singapore.

  • Interoperable across brands, long battery life
  • HAG connects via their hubs through AVR/GVR

Our current stance: Zigbee over Matter, for now.

Zigbee is still preferred for most installs. Matter is costlier (licensing rolls into device pricing), has fewer device choices, is currently less stable with reported disconnections, and has a platform lock-in bug under investigation. We'll move as the ecosystem matures.
